More of an exchange of priorities in research on SI. The point is not that Debord wants to stop making art, it's that he wants to stop making Art. The slogans and detour techiniques were attempts at better, more direct ways of getting their message out. Warhol is a bad example, so is GG. The GG agenda is to put women in Art,not to expose "the media's distribution of spectacularized social seduction as a tool for the maintenance of alienation without revolt".
And of course even that didn't sit well with others in the SI camp. A better example would be Adbusters Magazine, which provides images for the soul of the cultural revolutionary without becoming Art. Or maybe Patti Smith. Greil Marcus and others have connected it to Punk. And the power of Psychogeography in all its interpretations continues to spread as a practice; but not an Art practice. The best way to look at the SI legacy is as Xtremely SERIOUS!!!.... FUN.
Both "wrestlers" seem a bit tweedy for TV.
bestUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07796014746903462672noreply@blogger.com
